North Texans will have sunny skies and autumn temperatures

for the next couple of days, but it won’t stay that way for the weekend.

Forecasters predict mostly blue skies on Thursday and Friday with temperatures in the 70s. Morning temperatures will be about 50 degrees.

An upper-level disturbance will increase the chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday. The National Weather Service is calling for a 60 percent chance of rain during the day Saturday and a 50 percent chance Saturday night.

“It’ll be mostly rain with a few isolated thunderstorms,” said Matt Bishop, meteorologist at the weather service office in Fort Worth.

Bishop said rainfall totals could reach about a half-inch in many areas of North Texas.

The rain could linger until Sunday, when forecasters predict a 20 percent chance of moisture through the afternoon.

High temperatures for the weekend will remain in the 70s, with morning lows in the 50s.

Forecasters say trick-or-treaters may have some weather problems next week.

“Rain could come back as early as late Tuesday or on Halloween,” Bishop said Thursday. “But we’re going to have to wait until we get through this weekend and then we should know better about Halloween.”
