North Texas high school marching bands continue competitions

Students are showcasing their moves and music this week as UIL State Marching Band competition continues at stadiums across North Texas.

Regional contests are scheduled throughout the week and Area competitions will be this weekend with state berths on the line.

Marching bands from 1A, 2A and 4A high schools can advance to state this year.

Class 3A and 5A bands end their runs at regionals. A handful of Tarrant County Class 5A bands competed in Denton on Wednesday.

Burleson Centennial, Fort Worth’s Western Hills, Everman, Aledo and Crowley are among more than 20 high schools that have advanced to Saturday’s Area rounds, which will be held at Pennington Field in Bedford and Northwest Stadium in north Fort Worth.

The state competition will be held in San Antonio at the Alamodome on Nov. 4-5.
