A woman armed with a revolver and talking about monsters was subdued with a Taser by deputies early Monday in Parker County, authorities said.

Parker County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a person with a weapon shortly before 12:30 a.m. in the 5200 block of Tin Top Road, Sheriff Larry Fowler said.

The deputies found Donna Sue Ellis, 66, walking along the road carrying the handgun and speaking of monsters.

They repeatedly ordered Ellis to drop the weapon, but she refused every time, saying “No!”

Ellis approached deputies, taking very small steps and pointing the revolver at them as she demanded that they allow her to pass, Fowler said Monday in a news release.

“Deputies reported Ellis continued to advance toward them and would not retreat or comply with their commands to put the weapon down,” he said.

Deputies used a Taser on her and retrieved the weapon.

Paramedics treated Ellis at the scene, and deputies later arrested her.

She was booked into the Parker County Jail in Weatherford, facing a charge of aggravated assault against a public servant with a deadly weapon.

She remained in jail late Monday with bail set at $20,000.
