Mansfield hockey suffers loss

The Mansfield varsity hockey team lost to Richardson/Rockwall last Thursday, 8-2. Walker Frye and James Sullivan scored the two Mansfield goals in the first period. They’ll be back on the ice this Thursday looking to pick up their first win of the season when they take on Allen, 1-2-1.

Mansfield golf gets high finishes at recent tourney

The Mansfield girls golf team took third place at the Scoggin-Dickey Red Raider Classic held recently. The boys team took fifth at the meet.

Summit (narrowly) moves to 3-1 in district play

The Summit football team got past Red Oak, 37-35, to stay in a three-way tie for second in District 15-4A. Legacy and Seguin also possess 3-1 records. Braden Nolen threw for four touchdowns and 243 yards for the Jaguars, while Jordan Hester ran for 101 yards for Summit.

District cross country meet this week

The District 15-4A cross country meet will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Lynn Creek Park. The varsity girls will start things off at 9 am. Lake Ridge, Summit, and Legacy will be competing for the top three team finishes and the top 10 individual finishes to qualify for the regional meet.

District 7-5A’s cross country meet will also be on Wednesday at Midlothian.
