Lourdes Lopez has worked at the Shell Gateway No. 10 in Southlake for 11 years, long enough to see lots of other stores cash in on the Lotto Texas jackpot.

But her store’s luck changed Saturday.

Someone bought a lottery ticket from the Shell station, 401 N. Kimball Road, and won the the Saturday night lottery jackpot, worth $19.5 million.

“I don’t know who it was,” Lopez said Sunday afternoon by phone. “I didn’t even know the store had sold the ticket until the newspeople started calling.”

The winner bought a Quick Pick matching all six numbers and chose the cash value option. The winning numbers were 1-7-15-35-43-53.

The owner of the winning ticket had not come forward by Sunday.

But Lopez was ecstatic.

“Oh, yes, it’s great!” she said.

The store gets a bonus for selling the ticket. The store owner gets 1 percent of the jackpot, or in this case $195,000, according to the Lotto Texas website.

Only one ticket won the $19.5 million jackpot, but 10 tickets sold matched five of six numbers. Those are worth $3,227 each.
