STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State took advantage of three first-half turnovers by TCU to jump out an early lead and held off the Horned Frogs second-half surge to win 24-10 Saturday.The Horned Frogs defense did its part, intercepting three passes in the first half but the TCU offense continued to struggle. The Cowboys were able to match TCUs defensive effort and hold on in the fourth quarter in front of 59,638 at Boone Pickens Stadium. OSU led 17-0 at the half before Jaden Oberkroms 35-yard field goal finally put the Frogs on the board with under two minutes remaining in the third quarter to pull TCU (3-4, 1-3 in the Big 12) to within 17-3.TCU pulled to within 17-10 when Waymon James broke a tackle at the line of scrimmage and scored on a 14-yard run to cap a 12-play, 77-yard drive with 7:39 remaining.But a big kickoff return by Brandon Shepherd put the Cowboys back in TCU territory. Clint Chelf connected with Josh Stewart for another big gain before Rennie Childs ran in an insurance score and 24-10 lead with 6:04 remaining.The Frogs offense, which has struggled in the first half of every game this season, was held to 62 yards and three first downs in the first half against the Cowboys (5-1, 2-1).Trevone Boykin was intercepted three times, including twice in the first half which led to redshirt freshman Tyler Matthews playing his first couple of series of his career. He didnt fare much better as the Cowboys defensive line kept the pressure on. On Matthews first play his handoff to Ty Slanina on a jet sweep was fumbled and OSU recovered at the Frogs 15-yard line. TCUs defense held and Ben Grogans 31-yard field goal sailed wide right. TCUs next possession led by Matthews stalled after three plays.OSU drove 60 yards in eight plays with under a minute remaining in the half to set up a field goal but Grogan missed wide right again from 32 yards. In the second half, TCU drove the field 69 yards on its first drive, gaining four first downs but on a 4th-and-5 from the OSU 11 Boykins pass to B.J. Catalon was dropped and the Cowboys took over on downs.OSU receiver Josh Stewart had 10 catches for 141 yards.
