NORTH RICHLAND HILLS — Keller Timber Creek stopped a late rally from Richland, forcing an incomplete pass from just inside its 20-yard line, to take a 30-24 victory Friday night at the Birdville Fine Arts/Athletics Complex.
Led by running back Amon Lindsey’s 210 rushing yards and two touchdowns, Keller Timber Creek (2-5, 1-3 District 4-5A) used a strong fourth quarter to come from behind.
Running back C.J. Hicks scored his first of two scores to give Richland (2-5, 1-3) a 7-0 lead, but Timber Creek quarterback Anthony Millsap hit Cal Gregg from 50 yards to tie the game at 7-7.
Richland quarterback Brandon Maine, who finished with 172 passing yards and accounted for three touchdowns, scored from the 1 to give Richland the 14-7 lead.
Falcons kicker Benji Martinez connected on a 19-yard field goal shortly before halftime to make the score 14-10.
Lindsey put Timber Creek back on top with a 42-yard run, giving the Falcons the 17-14 lead.
Richland kicker Cristian Cuadra kicked a 33-yard field goal, tying the score at 17-17 heading into the fourth quarter.
Lindsey again gave Keller Timber Creek the lead, this time on a 35-yard run, just 11 seconds into the fourth quarter, but Hicks scored his second touchdown, a 3-yard run to tie the game 24-24.
Running back Recie Saunders gave the Falcons the lead for good on a 5-yard run.
