Lewisville police asked for help in identifying a man who groped a 14-year-old girl as she walked home from school on Sept. 24.

Detectives released a composite drawing of the suspect late Tuesday in hopes that someone could identify him.

The girl thwarted the attack after she punched her attacker in the face, Lewisville police said.

The attack occurred about 6 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the 800 block of Lakeside Circle in Lewisville.

The girl told authorities that she exited a school bus, walked to her apartment complex and noticed a white two-door car with tinted windows.

As she got closer to her apartment building, a man got of the car, walked toward her and yelled at her to “come here,” Lewisville police said in a news release.

The girl was on some stairs when the man grabbed her arm, pulled her shirt down and made a sexually explicit statement as he attempted to push her to the ground, police said.

The student punched the man in the face, knocking his glasses off. He picked them up and ran off.

Police described the attacker as a Hispanic man, about 30 to 35 years old, medium build with dark brown or black hair. He was wearing glasses, dark green scrubs and black shoes.

Anyone with information should call Lewisville police at 972-219-8477 or Denton County Crime Stoppers at 800-388-8477.
