Oct. 5 was a day for the wiener dogs.

Dachshunds and their owners celebrated Oktoberfest in Southlake Town Square with races and a costume parade.

The wiener dog festivities were part of Southlake Chamber of Commerce’s 12th annual fall celebration from Oct. 4-6.

Dachshunds of all sizes raced along Rustin Park and those with less of a competitive spirit strutted their stuff in a costume parade. There were Dachshund cars, superheroes and even a wiener dog dressed as a hotdog.

Even through rain festival goers still partook in the festivities.

The weekend-long festival featured music, dance, a battle of the bands, food and beer.

The fair also featured plenty of handmade arts and crafts for sale.
