Listener’s Story Time

Ages 3-5 are invited to Listener’s Story Time at 10:30 a.m. at the Mansfield Public Library, 104 S. Wisteria St. Admission is free.

Landscaping class

The city will host a SmartScape class from 7-9 p.m. to teach homeowners ways to conserve water through landscape maintenance and plant selection. The class, free for Mansfield residents, will be held at the Mansfield Water Treatment Plant, 707 Pleasant Ridge Court. Register at the Mansfield Activities Center or by e-mailing water@mansfield-tx.gov.

Bilingual Story Time

Children ages 3-5, English and Spanish speakers, are invited to Bilingual Story Time at 10:30 a.m. at the Mansfield Public Library, 104 S. Wisteria St. Admission is free.

October 19

Hazardous waste collection

City Hall will begin accepting hazardous waste at 9 a.m. and continue until noon or when the trailer is full. Electronics will be accepted for recycling. City Hall is located at 1200 E. Broad St. Proof of residency is required.

October 22

School board

The Mansfield school board will meet at 7 p.m. in the Mansfield ISD Center for Performing Arts, 1110 W. Debbie Lane. The meeting is open to the public.

Infants through age 3 and their parents or caregivers are invited to Story Time for Tots at 10:30 a.m. at the Mansfield Public Library, 104 S. Wisteria St. Admission is free.

Halloween carnival

Take your little trick-or-treaters to the Mansfield Activities Center for the Halloween carnival from 6-8 p.m. Enjoy a craft, snack, games and candy. The party is geared toward 2- to 6-year-olds, but all ages are welcome. Admission is $5 in advance or $7 on the day of the event. The MAC is located at 106 S. Wisteria St.

Fall Festival

The Mansfield Police Department will host its annual Fall Festival from 5-9 p.m. at Newsom Stadium, 3700 E. Broad St. Admission is free. Bring your little ghouls and goblins for bounce houses, petting zoo, enchanted forest hayride, carnival booths, prizes and candy.

October 28

City Council meeting

The Mansfield City Council will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1200 E. Broad St. Meetings are open to the public. The meetings are also broadcast on Charter Communications channel 27. For more information, call (817) 276-4200.
