With almost 12,000 votes cast, Arlington Seguin quarterback Kelton Moore's 5,501 votes edged out the 5,259 votes for Granbury's Ryan Suitt. Congratulations to both players!

There were many great high school football performances for the second week of October. Here’s your chance to tell us who has earned dfwVarsity Player of the Week honors. Voting ends at noon Wednesday.

Colleyville Heritage S Ryan Phillippe recorded 13 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 caused fumble, 2 pass breakups, 2 interceptions with one returned 27 yards for a touchdown in the Panthers’ 24-10 defeat of Irving MacArthur.

Granbury QB Ryan Suitt passed for 404 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 67 yards and two more scores as the Pirates beat Fort Worth Western Hills 49-30.

Kennedale RB Juwan Washington rushed for 347 yards and six touchdowns in the Wildcats 56-28 win at Springtown.

Arlington Seguin QB Kelton Moore, in a 48-42 win against Lancaster, rushed for 247 yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winer with 31 seconds left. He also passed for 175 yards and a touchdown.

Mansfield Legacy QB Terrance Ivery, in a 51-3 rout of Waxahachie, rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 128 yards and two scores.

Mansfield Timberview DB Ryan Dean recovered two fumbles, including one for a touchdown, in 55-20 loss at DeSoto.
