Saginaw Boswell cruised to victory on Friday night at Pioneer Stadium, defeating Fort Worth Carter-Riverside 62-7 in District 6-4A.
Two Pioneers players finished with more than 100 yards rushing, as Boswell combined for 418 yards on the ground.
Boswell (3-3, 3-1) started with a great defensive effort when defensive back Anthony Ramirez returned an interception 30 yards to the Eagles’ 8-yard line.
The Pioneers scored on a 7-yard keeper from quarterback Drew Bicknell.
Boswell recovered a fumble by Carter-Riverside (1-4, 1-6) on the ensuing kickoff, and running back James Wilson scored on a 3-yard run to make it 14-0.
Scott Moody caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Bicknell on Boswell’s next drive, and Dustin Martinez picked off the Pioneers’ second pass of the night with 2:42 remaining in the first quarter.
Wilson scored his second rushing touchdown of the night with 9:54 to play in the second quarter on a 6-yard run, and Antoine Stevenson broke a 30-yard run to make it 35-0 late in the second.
Jordon Cox came in at quarterback for the Pioneers and connected with Chandler Freeseman on a 15-yard pass before the end of the half.
