MANSFIELD — Quarterback Terrance Ivery got Mansfield Legacy off to a fast start and the undefeated Broncos cruised to a 51-3 victory against Waxahachie in a District 15-4A game at R.L. Anderson Stadium.
With the victory, the Broncos improved to 6-0 and 3-0 in district.
Ivery wasted little time, dashing 23 yards for the first score of the game with less than four minutes gone in the first quarter.
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Ivery led two more scoring drives in the first quarter as Legacy led 18-0.
Legacy running back Kijani Amous scored twice with runs of 7 and 2 yards, and Ivery finished with 192 yards rushing on 16 carries, including a 57-yard touchdown run during the Broncos’ 20-point third quarter.
Ivery, who was 9 of 14 passing for 128 yards, also threw two touchdown passes to tight end Corey Murray of 15 and 14 yards.
Legacy also got a 29-yard field goal by Daniel Moore in the first quarter and Kenton Mayberry scored on a 2-yard run for the Broncos’ final touchdown.
Peyton Freyer, Everett Williams and Laquentin Logan led a strong defensive effort for the Broncos.
