CARROLLTON — Hurst L.D. Bell punched a scoring ticket on offense, defense and special teams during the first half en route to a 50-14 win Thursday over Carrollton Turner at Standridge Stadium
The Blue Raiders (5-1, 3-0 District 6-5A) had a punt return for a touchdown, an interception return for one score and three offensive touchdowns.
“I thought the guys handled a short week and prepared themselves well,” Bell coach Mark Smith said. “Turner made some nice plays and had some chances there early to get us on the ropes, but we were fortunate.”
Running back Fua Sapoi did most of the offensive damage, rushing four times for 131 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Colson Romano completed six passes for 98 yards and two scores.
Jonathan Arosemena had one touchdown catch and two receptions for 45 yards. Billy Cooper took his only reception of the night 50 yards for the other score.
Turner (0-6, 0-3), meanwhile, looked early like it might have some fight on offense behind quarterback Carlos Ramirez.
He rushed 21 times for 41 yards and had a 60-yard touchdown run called back by a holding penalty.
