It’s ready!

The new West Seventh Street bridge opened to regular traffic this evening after a brief “parade” of dignitaries just after 5 p.m.

The $25 million one-of-a-kind bridge over the Trinity River linking downtown with west Fort Worth is structurally complete a month ahead of schedule.

The finishing cosmetic touches won’t be done for another month. The bridge is scheduled to close again Nov. 15-16 for a big party celebrating 100 years of a major river crossing at this spot. — Staff report
