Children got in as much outdoor time as they could before rain put an early end to Day for Kids.

The event, hosted by the Boys & Girls Club at Trawick Pavilion in Grapevine, aimed to get 100 children active outdoors on Sept. 28.

Participants played kickball and even danced before the rain. The event aims to promote healthy lifestyles, character and academic success in children.

Jennifer Wilson, marketing and database manager with Boys & Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth, said while the event ended earlier it accomplished its goal of having adults interact and support the children.
