CORINTH — Preston Haire connected with Hayden Sanders on a 9-yard touchdown pass with 5:34 left, and Trophy Club Byron Nelson came from behind to beat Lake Dallas 24-14 in a District 5-4A game Friday night at Falcon Stadium.
Haire, playing in his first game after returning from an injury, threw the touchdown pass on fourth-and-five.
The touchdown gave the Bobcats a 17-14 lead.
On the ensuing Falcons possession, Bobby Jones tackled Dagan Haehn just short of a first down on fourth down at the Lake Dallas 28.
Nelson tailback Courtney Miles scored on a 10-yard run.
Both teams are 4-1 and 1-1 in district.
Nelson led 10-0 at half on a 32-yard field goal by Parker McCabe and a 2-yard touchdown run by Haire.
Jones and Joel Kabongo led the Nelson defense that slowed a Lake Dallas team that was averaging 43.8 points per game.
Nelson limited Lake Dallas to three first downs, 111 total yards and held it scoreless in the first half.
Haehn connected with Keegan Brewer for two TD passes to give Lake Dallas a brief 14-10 lead.
