KELLER — Southlake Carroll scored on six of its first seven possessions and 10 of 12 for the game, and quarterback Ryan Agnew led the Dragons to a 77-6 victory over Keller Timber Creek at the Keller ISD Athletic Complex.
Agnew completed 13 of 17 passes for 255 yards and two scores and led an offense that amassed 569 yards. He also ran for 44 yards and two touchdowns.
A.J. Ezzard added 117 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Backup running back Grant McFarlin added two fourth quarter scores.
The only two possessions the Dragons (4-1, 2-0 in District 4-5A) didn’t score on was one following Timber Creek’s (1-4, 0-2) only score of the game and their last possession. Five of their six scoring drives in the first half went six plays or less. They scored on drives of 5, 2, 2, 4, and 6 plays as they opened a 49-6 lead at intermission.
Agnew’s favorite target in the first half was Luke Timian, who caught six passes for 132 yards and a touchdown.
The Dragons started the point parade on their first possession with Agnew scoring on an 18-yard run. Timber Creek answered with a 59-yard touchdown pass from Anthony Millsap to Max Patton.
Ezzard, who rushed for 84 yards on 10 carries in the first half, scored on runs of 13 and 12 yards. His first one capped a three-play drive with 3:38 to go in the first. His other was a 12-yarder in the second quarter.
Keaton Duhon, who caught two passes in the first half for 31 yards, caught a 21-yard scoring strike from Agnew. Andrew Chelf blocked a punt and returned it 20 yards with five seconds left in the first half.
