Fort Worth police trying to catch Zales robber

Police are asking the public to help them catch the man who robbed the Zales Outlet at 4701 West Freeway on Friday.

The robber, wearing an Atlanta Braves ball cap, entered the store about 11 a.m., pulled out a pistol and demanded jewelry.

He got away with a “substantial amount of jewelry,” Officer Sharron Neal, a police spokeswoman, said in a news release.

Investigators believe he may be the same man who robbed a Zales store in Arlington on July 10. That store, at 4101 S. Cooper St., was robbed about 10 a.m. ,Tiara Richard, an Arlington police spokeswoman, said.

The robber is about 25. He is Hispanic with a light complexion and a thin mustache with goatee. He is about 5 feet 9 and weighs about 160.

On Friday he wore a dark, long-sleeved shirt with white T-shirt, dark pants and tennis shoes with dark laces.

Anyone with information is asked to call robbery detectives at 817-392-4375 or Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477.

Tipsters can remains anonymous, and they might qualify for up to $1,000 if their information helps clear the case.
