Pillow tops and memory foam are so 2012. The most of-the-moment sleeper is the new, limited-edition Hästens Platinum bed, a mattress covered in shimmering platinum and bone-white check — ahem, that’s the color platinum, not the actual metal, even though the $107,990 price tag would suggest otherwise. Naturally, this Hästens mattress isn’t like any other mattress. Each one is handcrafted in the Hästens factory in the small town of Köping, Sweden, by artisans who assemble them with just the right combination of horsehair, cotton, flax, wool and Swedish pine — to help cool the body to its 60-degree ideal sleeping temperature. Some models have less horsehair and more other things, creating different levels of softness. But any way you go, these mattresses are said to be some of the most comfy around. If platinum isn’t your color, fear not. There are 17 colors in Hästens’ super-deluxe model available, including lime green. Which may make for some frog-kissing dreams, but, perchance, there’s a prince on the way. Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf sleeps on one, after all. Available at The Hästens Store, 4252 Oak Lawn Ave., Dallas, 214-252-0101;
