The rainy weather played havoc on two events this weekend, Rock the Park and KellerFest.

Participants to both annual events on Saturday were forced to leave and take cover from the rain and lightning that rolled through the Keller and north Fort Worth area early in the day.

KellerFest lost a few vendors due to the torrential rainfall but remained open Saturday. Rock the Park was cancelled Saturday afternoon about 2 p.m. due to the inclement weather.

The Rock the Park firework show was also cancelled. A news release from city officials said the fireworks will be rescheduled at a later date.

Brenda DeVore, interim president of the Greater Keller Chamber of Commerce, said because of the weather, Saturday’s attendance at KellerFest was not as high as projected but people were stopping by the event and still enjoying rides throughout the afternoon.
