MAC Duplicate Bridge held its first anniversary celebration honoring the formation of a nationally sanctioned American Contract Bridge League game (ACBL) in Mansfield. Lauren Brown is the director.

This game is part of ACBL Unit 183, which includes Fort Worth and the surrounding area. Unit 183 sponsors and oversees 35 weekly games held in the Tarrant County cities of Burleson, Denton, Mansfield and Arlington. The unit also sponsors sectional and regional tournaments, which draw players from Dallas and other areas.

Brown, a retired Mansfield school district administrator, is an ACBL certified game director and bridge teacher. The game has grown from three to eight tables (12 to 32 players) and meets Tuesdays from 12:30-4 p.m. at the Mansfield Activities Center, 106 S. Wisteria St. All bridge players are welcome.

Founding players include Chuck Krause, George Cross, Harriet Motter, Donna Gooch, Judy Latham, Sue Weaver, Mickey Newman, Caroline Drews, Beverly Shipka, Janet Jordan and Katye Kowierschke.
