Two motorists who had been in an accident and were standing by their vehicles were hit by another vehicle early Sunday on a service road, killing one and injuring the other, police said.

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s website identified the victim Sunday as Jose Solis, 19, of Fort Worth, who died at the scene. The second man, whom authorities did not identify, was taken to a hospital. His condition was unavailable.

Police responded to a major accident call shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday on the South Freeway southbound service road near East Seminary Drive.

Two vehicles had had an accident on the service road, and the men involved were standing beside their vehicles, police said.

A third vehicle drove by and hit the men, police said.
