GAINESVILE — After taking a lead into halftime, Lake Worth succumbed to the Gainesville defense Friday night in a 28-10 loss at Leopard Stadium.
Lake Worth (3-2) held Gainesville (4-0) to just one touchdown in the first half. Bullfrogs linebackers Damion Johnson and Luis Gutierrez each sacked Gainesville quarterback Mason Copeland in the first half, and running back Cris Pringle had a 10-yard touchdown run that gave Lake Worth a 10-7 lead at halftime.
But Lake Worth couldn’t get around Gainesville’s defense in the second half, managing only one first down.
Leopards running back Adam Berryman, who finished with 113 yards rushing, scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to give Gainesville a 21-10 advantage headed into the fourth.
