Hurst L.D. Bell used a big second half to pull away Friday for a 54-13 victory over Grapevine in a District 6-5A game at Pennington Field.

Grapevine opened a early 13-0 lead on a 41-yard run by Sam Barry and a 77-yard pass from quarterback Adam Sandy to David DeAnda, but the Raiders’ offense came alive.

On Bell’s next play, quarterback Colson Romano connected with Billy Cooper for an 84-yard strike that cut the lead to 13-7. After forcing Grapevine (0-4, 0-1) to punt, running back Fua Sapoi scored on a 2-yard run that put the Raiders (3-1,-1-0) up for good. Romano threw another touchdown pass to Johnny Leon just before halftime.

Leo Ocampo kicked two field goals in the third quarter and Daniel Dorsett added a 30-yard TD run for Bell, while Sapoi (88 yards), Alvin Phan (79 yards) and Davis Steelman (52 yard) rounded out the scoring in the fourth quarter
