Mansfield pulls out late win

Manfield’s Braylon Royal hauled in a 39-yard scoring pass from Caleb Evans late in the fourth quarter to push the Tigers past South Grand Prairie on Friday, 14-7.

Blake Shipman caught a five-yard TD pass from Evans for the first Mansfield score.

Legacy stays undefeated

The Broncos pasted Bryan Adams 31-0 to go to 3-0.

Legacy starts district play this Thursday when they host Lancaster at Vernon Newsom Stadium at 7 pm.

Summit tennis on a roll

Summit tennis player Christine Ngyuen, the No. 1 singles player for the Jaguars, has boosted her record to 6-1.

The Jaguars are in the process of a rebuilding mode of the program and it’s the first year under head coach Aaron Fuller.

Tigers tennis rained out

Mansfield’s district schedule was put on hold due to rain last Friday. The Tigers were scheduled to play South Grand Prairie, which will now be rescheduled.

They were to be back on the court Tuesday to play Timberview.
