Bill O’Reilly, host of Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor, and historian Martin Dugard are the writing team behind the bestselling Killing Lincoln (2011) and Killing Kennedy (2012), built around two earth-shattering political assassinations.

The writing duo’s books are works of nonfiction that read like suspense thrillers. Now, they’ve turned their sights on the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth with Killing Jesus, out Tuesday. It delves into Jesus’ life as a “beloved and controversial young revolutionary” and outlines “the seismic political and historical events” that made his death at the hands of Roman soldiers unavoidable.

Killing Jesus is being adapted into a made-for-TV movie by National Geographic Channel, which aired Killing Lincoln in February. The network is planning to air an adaptation of Killing Kennedy, starring Rob Lowe as JFK and Ginnifer Goodwin as Jackie, in November in time for the 50th anniversary of his assassination.
