Antoine Roussel scored two goals for the Dallas Stars on Friday night in a 4-1 victory over Florida in an preseason game.

Roussel, who scored seven goals last season as a rookie, scored less than five minutes into the game when he deflected in Trevor Daley’s shot. In the second period, Roussel took a centering pass from Chris Mueller and bounced the puck under goalie Michael Houser. Mueller also scored with less than six minutes to go.

It appeared that Roussel had completed a hat trick 2:37 into the third period, but his shot from the right circle was redirected into the net by Colton Sceviour. Goalie Dan Ellis lost his shutout bid when Tom Gilbert scored midway through the third period.
