Cooking well with diabetes classes to be offered in October

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Parker County will a Cooking Well with Diabetes II. The series will include three classes that will be at the Parker County Agricultural Services Center, located at 604 North Main Street in Weatherford.

The evening classes will take place the following dates: Tues., Oct. 1; Tues., Oct. 15; and Tues., Oct. 22. The classes will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will conclude at 8:30 p.m.

Cooking Well with Diabetes II will cover the following lessons: carbohydrate foods, desserts, making recipes with fat better for you, cutting the fat; Main Dishes, double your pleasure side dishes, reducing sodium and increasing fiber, celebrating sensibly with diabetes and holiday meal preparation with diabetes.

There will be a $20 charge for the session that will cover the cost of food supplies. Space is limited and you should pre-register by Sept. 27.
