Art show

The seniors at Mansfield Activities Center will host the 11th annual Art Show and Reception from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the MAC, 106 S. Wisteria St. Awards will be presented at noon.

Cub Scouts

Boys interested in joining Cub Scouts are invited to a rally at 7 p.m. at Annette Perry Elementary, 1261 S. Main St., or at 6:30 p.m. at Anna May Daulton Elementary, 2607 N. Grand Peninsula Drive in Grand Prairie.

Night on the Town

Head to Town Park for A Night on the Town’s Back to School party from 6-8:30 p.m. Decorate a lunch bag, check out the face painter, take a pony or train ride and spend some time in the petting zoo. Admission is free. Town Park is located at 500 N. Main St.

Farmers Market

The Mansfield Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at 206 Smith St. (intersection of Smith and Oak streets), selling fresh produce, potted plants, honey, crafts, candles, clothes and more. Head to the Western Kountry Klub for the Justin Hunter Band from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. BYOB. The historic dance hall is located at 5728 Lakeview Drive. Learn about bike safety and listen to Zack Verner’s country band from 6-8:30 p.m. at Town Park, 500 N. Main St. The Mansfield Police Department will have a bike safety course and then there will be a bike raffle. Verner’s band will perform from 7-8:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Landscaping class

The city will host a SmartScape class from 7-9 p.m. to teach homeowners ways to conserve water through landscape maintenance and plant selection. The class, free for Mansfield residents, will be held at the Mansfield Water Treatment Plant, 707 Pleasant Ridge Court. Register at the Mansfield Activities Center or by e-mailing water@mansfield-tx.gov.
