FRISCO — Ramon Harris ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns and undefeated Frisco Lone Star raced to a 27-0 lead, then cruised past Lake Worth 54-20 Thursday night at Toyota Stadium.
Lake Worth (2-1) was also undefeated coming in, and played well on defense in the first half, but the Bullfrogs turned the ball over five times in the first 21 minutes. Two of the fumbles and an interception came inside the Lake Worth 20 and resulted in 17 Lone Star points.
Most of the highlights for the Bullfrogs came from their defense. Hector Rivera returned a fumble 23 yards to set up Lake Worth’s only score in the first half. On fourth down, Kelton Versey scrambled and hit Tim Woods for an 11-yard touchdown pass with four seconds left in the half.
Versey also threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Christian Flores and had a 9-yard scoring run in the second half. But the Rangers held Lake Worth to only eight first downs and 173 yards of total offense.
Lone Star quarterback Chase Moake ran for a touchdown and threw for 175 yards and another score, most of it before halftime.
Moake’s 9-yard run opened the scoring after Esteban Womack’s 20-yard interception return on the third play of the game gave Lone Star (3-0) the ball on the Lake Worth 19.
Two Cameron Scott field goals, a 6-yard touchdown run by Jordan Jones, and Austin DeLeon’s 4-yard touchdown reception from Moake put the Rangers up 27-0 with 2:55 left in the first half.
