Run with Heart set for Saturday

The first annual Run with Heart, a chip-timed 5K and half-marathon, is set for Saturday at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. There is also a 1-mile Fun Run. Packet pick-up is from 6:30-7:30 a.m. at the hospital campus. The half-marathon start time is at 7:30 a.m., with the 5K following at 7:40 a.m. and the 1-mile at 7:45 a.m.

Timberview football wins but sees 105-yard return

Timberview posted a 21-17 win over Hebron to go 2-0 on the season. But the game became much closer than it needed to be for the Wolves following their final touchdown with just 38 seconds remaining to take the lead, 21-15. On the PAT attempt, the kick was blocked and returned 105 yards for a safety by Hebron.

Amous piles up yardage

Legacy running back Kijana Amous racked up 237 yards and scored four touchdowns in the Broncos win over Kennedale Friday. Amous scored on runs of one, 72 and 47 yards and caught a 25-yard TD pass. His eight TDs are second thus far in the area 4A rushing leaders.

Fall basketball league registration ends Sept. 16

The Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department’s fall adult basketball league late registration ends Sept. 16. Registration fee is $350. Team registration can be completed at the Mansfield Activities Center, 106 S. Wisteria during regular hours. For more information, call Nick Garcia at 817-453-5420.
