Two people were found dead at an Arlington apartment Saturday in an apparent double homicide.

The victims, a man and woman, were discovered by a relative about 11:30 a.m. Saturday at a downstairs unit at Stone Canyon Apartments in the 2100 block of Madison Drive, Arlington police Lt. Christopher Cook said. The apartment complex is near Whole Foods Market at Collins Street and Lamar Boulevard.

“This does not appear to be a murder-suicide,” Cook said.

Police do not have any suspects or a motive, Cook said. Officers are canvassing the area to talk to neighbors, family members and possible witnesses.

It it not clear how the two victims, believed to have been in their early 30s, are related, Cook said.

Officers initially reported searching for a 2005 black Chevrolet Tahoe, which belonged to one of the victims and was believed to have been stolen. They found the vehicle, however, which one of the victims previously lent to a family member.

“We are trying to figure out two things right now,” Cook said. “No. 1, what was the motive. Why were they killed. And No. 2, who is responsible.”

Names of the victims will be released by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office, pending notification of next of kin.
