In deficit again

The city of Fort Worth says that we’re in a deficit again.

I’ve lived in this city since 2007 and we’re always in a budget crunch. Housing prices, sales and consumer sales have increased the past two years, so that means tax revenue is up. Budgets have been cut in the past and yet we’re still having money problems.

So where is the money going?

The city wants to cut police and fire protection budgets, risking the safety of Fort Worth residents.

Water and sewer rates may go up, which I really don’t understand because water demand has been down due to regulations on water usage.

So, again, where is the money going?
