At least half of an eight-unit apartment building in Benbrook was destroyed by flames Friday afternoon, officials said.

Firefighters from Benbrook, Fort Worth and Aledo battled the fire, which was reported 3:03 p.m. at the River Glen Apartments in the 5700 block of Bellaire Drive South.

“Responding units found one of the apartment buildings completely enveloped in fire,” according to a news release from Benbrook police and firefighters.

The blaze was mostly out around 5 p.m. and firefighters started clearing the scene about an hour later, officials said.

“No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation,” according to the release.

At least four of the eight units were destroyed, said Battalion Chief Richard Harrison, spokesman for the Fort Worth Fire Department.
