MIDLOTHIAN — Running backs Victor Williams and Triston Oliphant scored two touchdowns each as Midlothian built a big lead at the half and coasted to a 54-7 victory over Keller Timber Creek at Midlothian ISD Stadium on Friday.
Timber Creek (0-2) had no answer for the Panthers’ offense early as Midlothian (2-0) scored on each of its first five possessions to build a 37-7 lead by intermission.
The Falcons forced a punt after Midlothian took the opening kickoff. The Panthers faced facing fourth-and-six from their own 20, but punter Zach Humphreys ran for 25 yards and a first down.
Three plays later, quarterback Jimmy Fouse hit Williams with a 52-yard scoring pass to give the Panthers a 7-0 lead with 8:29 left in the first quarter.
Oliphant sandwiched scoring runs of 1 and 10 yards around a safety by Roman Brown, who tackled the Falcons’ punter in the end zone following a high snap, giving Midlothian a 23-0 lead.
Timber Creek scored early in the second quarter on a 13-yard run by Amon Lindsey for 23-7. Anthony Millsap completed passes 29 and 26 yards on the drive.
Midlothian answered with TD runs of 19 yards by Humphreys and a 61 yards by Williams.
Fouse finished with 178 yards passing while 10 different running backs had 333 rushing yards. Quindell Daniels blocked a punt and returned it for a 30-yard touchdown to end Midlothian’s scoring.
