The Granbury Pirates compiled 305 yards on the ground in a 42-0 rout over Fort Worth North Side Friday night at Pirate Stadium.
The Pirates (2-0) opened the scoring with a 22-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Suitt to Mitchell May early in the first quarter.
Midway through the first quarter, Kevin Hennard electrified the crowd with a 61-yard punt return for the touchdown and added an interception three plays later.
Malik Allen led the Pirates with 122 rushing yards on nine carries and two touchdowns. Peyton Gilmore added 111 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown.
Granbury quarterback Ryan Suitt was 3-5 passing for 62 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas Weaver, the leading receiver for the Pirates, caught two passes for 36 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.
Granbury‘s defense held North Side (0-2) to 99 total yards, all via the rush. Luis Dominguez led the Steers with 62 yards for the Steers.
