A 1-year-old boy died Wednesday from a drowning incident at his home in River Oaks, according to a MedStar spokesman.

The boy’s name was unavailable at 9 p.m. Details were limited. Police did not respond to a call for information.

MedStar officials, however, said they were called at 7:30 p.m. to a house in the 600 block of Hassett Avenue in River Oaks.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was being given when the ambulance crew arrived, said Matt Zavadsky, a MedStar spokesman.

CPR was continued in the ambulance, which took the child to Cook Children’s Medical Center, Zavadsky said.

The ambulance crew learned a short while later that the boy did not survive, Zavadsky said.

No other information was available.
