A North Richland Hills man died early Tuesday in a motorcycle wreck on Interstate 35W, just south of the downtown area, according to reports.

William Irby, 69, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Investigators believe the wreck happened around 6 a.m. as the man was southbound in the 200 block of I35W, said Officer Sharron Neal, police spokeswoman.

Witnesses told police that he “made a movement to the right, went down, and tumbled into the right guardrail,” Neal said.

Cause of Irby’s death was “multiple blunt-force injuries,” according to the medical examiner’s office.

“The motorcycle continued to tumble another 60 feet before coming to a stop,” Neal said. “There were no other vehicles involved.”
