• William and Mary at West Virginia (11 a.m. today, Fox Sports 1): West Virginia enters its second season in the Big 12 hoping to regain some confidence after losing six of its final eight games last year, including an embarrassing 38-14 loss to Syracuse in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl.

• No. 13 Oklahoma State vs. Mississippi State (2:30 p.m. today, WFAA/8): The Cowboys and Bulldogs will face off in the first Southeastern Conference vs. Big 12 matchup of the season. The teams play on the big stage in the AdvoCare Texas kickoff at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

• Louisiana-Monroe at No. 16 Oklahoma (6 p.m. today, FSN PPV): The post-Landry-Jones era begins in Norman, as redshirt freshman Trevor Knight takes over at quarterback. The Sooners shouldn’t look past the Warhawks since ULM beat Arkansas and nearly upset Auburn and Baylor in its first three games last season.

• Wofford at Baylor (6:30 p.m. today, FSSW Plus): Baylor received 92 votes but didn’t quite make The Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll. The Bears, who should field another explosive offense this season, will be motivated to make a statement to start their season.

• Northern Iowa at Iowa State (7 p.m. today): Northern Iowa has performed well against BCS Conference teams. Last season, the Panthers nearly upset a ranked Wisconsin team in the first game of the year (the Badgers pulled out a 26-21 win) and lost to Iowa 27-16.
