Senior running back scores three times to help The Colony run past Saginaw

Senior running back Ryan Hammond scored three touchdowns in The Colony’s 27-7 victory over Saginaw on Friday at Cougar Stadium.

Hammond carried the Cougars throughout, rushing 23 times for 151 yards as The Colony attempted just six passes. The Cougars scored the game’s first 27 points, with Hammond contributing touchdown runs of 2, 10 and 4 yards.

Paul Lewis recovered a Saginaw fumble on a fake punt and returned it 49 yards for a score. Hammond added a 2-point conversion for a 27-0 lead.

Saginaw scored in the fourth on John Polston’s 30-yard touchdown pass to Austin Wright on the first play of the drive.
