McKINNEY — Kijana Amous ran for 113 yards and five touchdowns as Mansfield Legacy past McKinney 38-28 in the season opener for both teams Friday night at Ron Poe Stadium.
Legacy had its running game in full gear, especially in the first half. The Broncos scored touchdowns on three of their first-half possessions, all on 1-yard runs by Amous.
Senior linebacker Everett Williams returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown with 31 seconds left in the first half to give Legacy a 25-15 cushion.
Quarterback Terrance Ivery led Legacy rushers with 131 yards.
