Two pedestrians were seriously injured early Wednesday when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver, police said.

Officers continued their search Wednesday morning for an older model Cadillac.

The male pedestrian suffered head and back injuries, police said. A female pedestrian also suffered injuries. The two were taken to an area hospital. Their current conditions were not available, and police did not release their names.

The incident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. at Bishop and Little John streets.

Capt. Kevin Rodricks said in an email Wednesday that the pedestrians were walking northbound in the area when they were hit by the car.
