FORT WORTH — Nearly 240 dogs rescued recently from squalid conditions near Celina in Denton County will be among numerous animals available for adoption this weekend from the Humane Society of North Texas.The “Happy Trails Adoption Extravaganza” will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at five locations operated by the society.Other animals including cats will be available, said Tammy Roberts, interim operations director.“We have hundreds of animals who need a loving home,” she said. “Many of these animals, like the dogs rescued from Celina recently, came from terrible situations and need a loving place to call home.”Most of the rescued dogs from Celina will be at the society’s Adoption Ranch, 3130 Farm Road 1187 in Crowley. This location is open to the public for this event only. Other visits there must be arranged by appointment.The other locations are:• Main facility, 1840 E. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth• Southwest Adoption Center, 6708 S. Hulen St., Fort Worth• Keller Welcome Home Adoption Center, 363 Keller Parkway, Suite A, Keller• Benbrook Welcome Home Adoption Center, 9009 U.S. 377 S., Benbrook.Fees for dogs and cats range from $50 to $150. That includes spaying or neutering, a microchip, 30 days of pet insurance and a vet exam.The society has some requirements for potential pet owners, who must answer questions on an application.
