FORT WORTH — For the fifth year in a row, the Fort Worth school district’s tax rate will remain the same.Trustees voted unanimously Tuesday night to approve the rate of $1.322 per $100 of assessed property value. That includes $1.04 for day-to-day operations, the highest that districts can levy without additional approval through a tax ratification election. The rest is for debt service. The taxes will support a $644.2 million general fund budget, including a $9.5 million shortfall, that was approved by trustees in June. The shortfall will be covered by savings, Deputy Superintendent Hank Johnson has said.No members of the public spoke Tuesday night at a public hearing on the tax rate. The fiscal year started July 1.
