For the fifth year in a row, the Fort Worth school district’s tax rate will remain the same.

Trustees voted unanimously Tuesday night to approve the rate of $1.322 per $100 of assessed property value. That includes $1.04 for day-to-day operations, the highest that districts can levy without additional approval through a tax ratification election. The rest is for debt service.

The taxes will support a $644.2 million general fund budget, including a $9.5 million shortfall, that was approved by trustees in June. The shortfall will be covered by savings, Deputy Superintendent Hank Johnson has said.

No members of the public spoke Tuesday night at a public hearing on the tax rate.

The fiscal year started July 1.
