Both avid local sports fans and parents alike braved an August afternoon - which included a sizzling setting sun - to meet their favorite teams.

On Thursday, the home stands were filled with adoring fans to meet the ’Roos and celebrate a new season. Richard Scoggin, WISD Executive Director of Athletics, kicked off the evening with the WHS Fight Song led by the band, Belles and cheerleaders.

The evening was not all about the football - it also saw the introductions of the 2013 varsity teams or returning letter-men on the volleyball, cross country, fall tennis and fall golf teams.

WHS Head Football Coach Weldon Nelms got the crowd into a frenzy and in true rally fashion offered confidence and gratitude to all teams, parents and fans alike as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Those in attendance were also introduced to WHS cheerleader, band, Belles and athletic trainers.
