On Sat., Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. the 10th Annual Snow Garrett & Williams Community Food Drive will take place. The event will be in front of Wal-Mart, located at 1836 S. Main St. in Weatherford to drive food donations for the pantry shelves at Center of Hope. The local assistance ministry will share the donations with families residing in Parker County.

Specifically chosen food items will be pre-bagged and tagged for purchase at the point of check out making it easy for community shoppers to add their donation when they’ve finished with their shopping. The bags will be dropped off with the volunteers stationed at the front of the store.

“Snow Garrett & Williams has had the privilege of hosting the Food Drive for the Center of Hope for 10 years,” Office Manager Marnita Lankford said. “The community is always very supportive in our endeavor to do a small part to help provide for the needs of our friends and neighbors who are going through financial difficulty. ”

This is the second year for the event to be at the Weatherford Wal-Mart location.

“We feel like last year’s food drive was a great success,” Wal-Mart Store Manager Brad Goss said. “We really enjoyed partnering up with Snow, Garrett & Williams and are hoping this year is as successful as last year.”
