Man died Sunday after shooting in east Fort Worth

A 30-year-old man has died after a shooting late Saturday in east Fort Worth.

Christopher Newton died at 4:18 p.m. Sunday at a trauma ICU, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website. The hospital was not listed.

According to a police report, officers were called at 10:41 p.m. Saturday to a shooting call at the Woodstock Apartments in the 5900 of Boca Raton Boulevard, northwest of the intersection of East Loop 820 and Interstate 30.

They found Newton on the ground shot on the upper left side of his chest and upper left upper thigh, a police report stated.

No other information was available on Monday.
