A motorist was killed Sunday morning when he lost control of his vehicle on Interstate 30 in east Fort Worth, hit a pole, rolled over a couple of times and was ejected and thrown against a concrete barrier, police said.

The victim was identified as Mark Perez, 27, of Fort Worth. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s officer said Perez died from head trauma and ruled his death an accident.

The wreck occurred about 4:15 a.m. in the 5200 block of the West Freeway.

Perez was westbound on the highway when his vehicle veered off into a grassy median and hit the pole. The vehicle rolled until it hit a second pole, ejecting the driver, police said.
