At Friday’s controlled scrimmage, the Arlington Bowie and Cedar Hill first-team offenses tied 6-6 in the opening 15-play series each team executed.

In the two 12-minute quarters with a running clock that concluded the scrimmage, Bowie quarterback Keaton Perry connected with Tony James for a 30-yard touchdown and 6-3 win.

“We felt good, but we struggled early on trying to make plays,” Perry said. “Tony being a little banged up is kind of killing us because we don’t have a deep threat. We get him healthy and everybody else going good, we’ll be all right."

Perry took 25 snaps in the first portion of the scrimmage, and he completed 6 of 10 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Bowie safeties Edwin Freeman and Nico Small delivered several jarring tackles.

During the two 12-minute quarters, Cedar Hill left-handed quarterback Justin MacMillan completed seven of nine passes for 56 yards.
